What MoneyKit is
MoneyKit is a reference-calculation tool. Every engine is cross-checked against primary regulatory sources (methodology), but the output is still only a reference figure — an engineered number based on the inputs and rules you selected.
What MoneyKit is not
- It is not investment advice, tax advice, or legal advice.
- It is not a substitute for a Chartered Accountant, a SEBI-registered Investment Adviser, or a lawyer.
- It is not a quote or a commitment from any bank, broker, or government agency. Actual rates a bank or broker offers you will differ.
- It is not an audited or certified computation for any statutory filing (Income Tax Return, GST return, etc.). File based on source documents and a qualified professional’s review.
Where our numbers come from
Engines implement formulas and rate tables published by RBI, CBDT, CBIC, India Post, and state departments, sourced directly (editorial policy). We refresh on every Budget, every GST Council rate change, and every small- savings quarterly notification. When a regulator changes a rule, there is always a lag before our site reflects it; check the “last updated” date on each page.
Individual circumstances we can’t model
A calculator cannot know:
- DTAA treatment, tax residency nuances, NRI-specific exemptions.
- Grandfathered investments (pre-1-Apr-2018 equity, pre-1-Apr-2023 debt MFs, legacy PPF rules, etc.) beyond what you enter.
- Employer-specific salary structures that deviate from the common basic / HRA / special-allowance pattern.
- A specific bank’s actual sanctioned rate, which depends on your credit score, employer category, banking relationship, and loan-to-value.
- Assessing-officer discretion (e.g., whether Section 54 reinvestment is accepted on your specific timeline and documentation).
Your responsibility
Before acting on a number you see here — filing a return, buying a property, signing a loan — review the source documents with a qualified professional. Do not copy-paste our output into a statutory filing unchecked. Do not treat “what the calculator says” as legal cover if the assessing officer or bank disagrees.
No liability
